About
Hi, I’m Helen Southgate. I have worked in online since I finished University in 2002. I started my career at Silvertap Ltd, which was a newly formed affiliate network based in Norwich. When I started there was just 4 of us, now it is a well established, specialist affiliate marketing network. After 4.5 years working in account management at Silvertap I left the safe confines of Norwich and headed for London, where the streets are paved with gold! London is very much the heart of online and affiliate and I wanted to be in the thick of it. I joined dgm in January 2007, the first UK affiliate network, and was there for a very enjoyable 2.5 years. In September 2009 I moved away from agency and delved into the corporate world by joining BSkyB. My role at Sky is Online Marketing Senior Manager, responsible for affiliate and search. It’s a very different role and looking forward to all the exciting challenges it brings.
Outside of online marketing my biggest love is Norwich City FC. I have been a season ticket holder for about 16 years so have seen the club competing in Europe to where they are today, league one. I travel to as many home games as I can and try to get to a few away games as well, the benefit of living in London is that the away games are less of a trek than Norwich. Despite its problems over the years Norwich is a fantastic club, community focused and has a strong and loyal fan base. Our crowds for league games are often around 25k which is a good feat considering our league status. However, being in Norwich there isn’t much competition, the nearest club being fierce rivals Ipswich about 60km away, but the less said about them the better.
